The Eau Claire Curling Club extends its congratulations to the Wisconsin State Junior Champions and runners up. All four teams will move on to the Junior Nationals in Bemidji, MN, January 23, 2010.
All of the Junior teams are to be congratulated for their sportsmanship, teamwork, competitive spirit and hard fought games throughout these matches. Continued "Good Curling" to each of you.

The Playoffs!
Both the boys and girls will have playoffs to determine final winners. For the girls, Hamilton has won the championship with Elco playing Wallace for the runner-up at 4 PM today.
The boys have a three way tie. Gabower will play Morton for the championship at 4 PM and Caldwell will play the looser for the runner-up position. Caldwell had previously lost to both Gabower and Morton moving the team into the runner-up catagory. That playoff will begin at 8 PM today.
Both champions and runners-up will compete in the Nationals at Bemidji, MN in January.

Team Morton vs Team Jensen. Morton was able to take the win when Jensen was unable to score in the 10th. The final was 8 to 6 for this 9 AM draw.

Team Hamilton and Team Wallace had an excellent game at 1 PM Monday. Wallace took aim at scoring three for the win with her final shot with a double raise take-out, but it was not to be. Hamilton won 5 to 3 in the 10th end.

Competition Structure
37th Wisconsin Junior Championship
According to Mark Hartman, Wisconsin Junior Championship Chair, the boy's competition is an 8 team round robin to determine first and second place teams. The first place team becomes the Wisconsin Junior Boy's Champion. the second place team is the runner-up. Both the champion and runner-up will represent Wisconsin in the Junior National Championship scheduled for Bemidji, MN, January 23-30, 2010.
The girl's competition is a double round robin (each team will play all opponents two times). The first place team becomes Wisconsin Champion and the second place team is the runner-up. Both the champion and the runner-up will represent Wisconsin in the Girl's National Junior Championship also scheduled for Bemidji, January 23-30.

The 37th Annual Wisconsin Junior State Championship began today with practice sessions, a general meeting and team photos. Competition begins at 8:00 AM, Sunday, December 27.

Two Junior Men's and two Junior Women's teams from this event will be going to the Junior Nationals in Bemidji, MN, January 23 to 30, 2010.
The Wisconsin Junior Championships will be held at the ECCC beginning with team meetings on December 26th. Thirteen total draws will fill the next four days with the potential for two tiebreakers on Wednesday, December 30. Eight Junior Men's teams and six Junior Women's teams from around the state will compete in separate events. All games are 10 ends.
Saturday
December 26: Team meetings and a practice session starting at 7 pm.
Sunday
December 27: Draws at 8 am, 12 noon, 4 pm, 8 pm
Monday
December 28: Draws at 9 am, 1 pm, 5 pm
Tuesday
December 29: Draws at 8 am, 12 noon, 4 pm, 8 pm
Wednesday
December 30: Draws at 8 am, 12 noon
Tiebreakers as needed: 4 pm, 8 pm
